# Open Score Library

> Open Score Library is a free, curated directory of public domain sheet music for music teachers — especially piano teachers, plus strings, winds, voice and classroom teachers. Pieces are graded (Beginner, Early Intermediate, Intermediate) and each one is offered as PDF, MusicXML and MIDI.

## What it is
- A teacher-focused catalog of public domain (copyright-free) scores, chosen and graded for real students.
- Free to use. Downloads are unlocked by a free email signup (name + email); no payment, no account password.
- Funded by reader tips (Buy Me a Coffee) and sponsors.

## Who it's for
- Private piano and instrument teachers looking for free graded repertoire.
- School / classroom music teachers (recorder, band, strings, choir).
- Students and parents looking for free beginner sheet music.

## Formats
- PDF: printable score.
- MusicXML: editable in MuseScore, Sibelius, Finale, Dorico — transpose, simplify or arrange.
- MIDI: playback and practice tracks.

## Copyright
- Scores are believed to be in the public domain in the United States (composers/works long out of copyright, or traditional folk melodies). Users outside the US should check local copyright law.
